Quilting is one art that has moved across generations. It uses both the modern as well as the traditional quilting techniques to being in a position to create art objects through the main form known as art quilting, the mixed media art quilts and also known as the fiber art quilts. Quilting thus involves the process by which two or more layers of fabric are sewed together making up a thicker padded material. The end product is a quilt or also known as quilted garment.
The quilting process is done in three layers. The topmost layer in a quilt is known as the top fabric or a quilt top. In the second layer of the quilt is an insulating material and finally the backing material that finalizes the layers of the quilt. It can however adopt many different styles. The process of quilting uses simply a needle and a thread. These are used to join the two or more layers which are used in the quit. The needle is then passed through all the layers and its then bringing the needle up.
Quilting is used mainly in creating bed spreads, in making quilt wall hangings, in the making of clothing’s and it is also used in quite a variety of textile products in the textile industry. The entire quilt making process however does not just happen but it involves various activities such as designing, piecing and also applique and binding. The entire process also can be made by hand, also it can be made possible by using a sewing machine or by the use a specialized longarm quilting system.
Types of quilting
Quilting is done however using different types. Hand-quilting and machine quilting are often the main methods that are used. In hand quilting a needle and a thread is what is used to sew a running stitch by use of hand across the entire area that needs to be quilted. A quilter can then make one stitch at a time by the first thing driving the needle through the fabric from the right side. Machine quilting on the other and uses a home sewing machine or can also use a longarm machine so as to sew the layers together.
The layers are tacked before sewing a process that involves laying the top layer of the quilt, battling and also backing out on a flat surface on a flat surface as well as a through the use of safety pins and also tacking the layers together.
Quilting has grown to become an art across all the generations. It began as a potential art in the 70s and has gained grounds since then. The fiber artists slowly began by forming communities, organizing shows to show of the quilt as well as cultivating advocates as well as collectors. Quilting studio has played a very great role in ensuring that the quilting art grows from one generation to another. The studios were developed from a convergence of different influences in both the art and craft worlds of the 20th century. The artists who make the quilts have succeeded in challenging all the boundaries of art, craft as well as quilt and this has led to quilting development cross generations.
A hygienic theater can have an influence on the level of attendance of various shows offered by a theater. This is because an environment affects the way in which people view a particular place. It is important to ensure that a classy show is not affected by an unhygienic environment that will make the crowd feeling uncomfortable.
The management of various theaters can incorporate various mechanisms to ensure that the theater is always kept spotless for the possibility to host successful classy shows. Keeping a spotless theater is not a difficult thing to do and only requires a coordinated management effort with staff or service providers who are committed to the process.
Having the right manpower
One of the key components of service delivery is having a good workforce who are committed to what they do. Employees can be hired initially on a probation basis to asses there level of competence and commitment. In some cases, the management may choose to subcontract an experienced cleaning firm. This will ensure that the management can focus on the core mandate of there existence and that is to ensure that all shows are successfully delivered without hitches
The cleaning intervals are highly recommended to be after every show. This is based on the fact that individuals usually bring in food related items that leaves the theater dirty. In this case it is important to have a significant amount of time between shows that will allow the cleaning crew to effectively do the cleaning without compromising the show activities. Having a thorough clean of the facility is also an important aspect of keeping the place spotless. This can be done when the theater is closed for the day. This include the cleaning of fixtures and fitting. It is important to note that seats need to be thoroughly cleaned after every show as they are the main casualties of dirt including from solid and liquid elements
Having the right Equipment
Investing is the right equipment is important in case where the cleaning services is not subcontracted to other professional service providers. This will ensure that certain areas can be cleaned where using one’s hand is difficult e.g. using a vacuum cleaner to clean tight corners. We utilize steam cleaners on a regular basis to insure all seats are perfectly clean (if fact if you want you can take a look at the ones we evaluated, so you can know which one to choose for yourself, or as the french say, “savoir lequel choisir“.) The equipment also reduces the amount of time that is spent cleaning and is in most cases more effective than using the normal broom and mop method. Having modern equipment ensures that the area will always be available within the stipulated time as cleaning using equipment usually uses less water that takes less time to dry
Limiting the food related items
One can also limit what type of food and drinks can be allowed within various theaters by implementing a no food from outside policy. This will ensure that clients only purchase certain kinds of food that are packed in a manner that will minimize the spillage of food and drinks in the theater. Limiting the type of food is also of critical importance with certain food items being able to permanently stain the seats or carpets in a theater. This bring about a position in which the theater has to incur extra costs in terms of replacing the stained items.
We are happy to announce that some our our friends and colleagues will be performing a series of dates in California at the Shoreline Amphitheater. We fully support them and would like anyone who is in that area to consider checking them out. For more info on all the various dates at the Shoreline venue you can check out this link: getmeincheap.com/venues/ca/shoreline-amphitheatre.
Speaking from experience, the Shoreline is a gorgeous venue located in Mountain View, CA. Just check out this pic:
Thanks to anyone who can support the traveling performers who work so tirelessly. It’s not an easy life on the road, so we hope they get the exposure and recognition they deserve.
Some of the Upcoming Shows
While the schedules are always changing, some of the upcoming shows at the Shoreline are:
San Francisco Symphony – July 4th Celebration
This is a great event that you should not miss if you are in the area. Not only do you get to see the San Francisco Symphony and celebrate independence day, but you also get a great fireworks show after the fact.
Jim Gaffigan – Sept 17th
For those looking for a bit of a comic relief over the summer, popular comic Jim Gaffigan is making his way toe the Northern California venue. Grab a seat or bring you own picnic blanket/chairs for a fun time with Jim. He usually focuses on family friendly comedy (anyone remember the “Hot Pocket” bit? Still a classic)…
Lauren Hill and Nas – October 7th
Finally, one of the most anticipated tours for all those fans of early 90’s hip hop, Lauren Hill and Nas are on tour performing together for the first time in decades. Many of us have waited for the return of Lauren Hill after her massively successful solo album “The Miseducation of Lauren Hill”, but she receded into private life and raised her family, never releasing a second album. Nas, of course, is one of the greatest rappers of the 90’s generation, and has recently been more active on the touring scene.
